Thoughts:
4/5 stars.
I think the idea behind this book was original, but at the same time a classic- the original being the cyborg with powers part, but the original being the Cinder-ella part of it. I liked Cinder from the start, she had a strong personality and she is  a mechanic, which most girls don't know anything about cars- or in this case hover cars. When their society is attacked by a plague, her step-sister becomes fatally ill. Her step mother volunteers her for testing for a cure, she finds out her life isn't as un-glamorous as it seems. She meets Prince Kai and is instantly smitten (sorry, I wanted to use that word) with him, along with thousands of other girls. When he likes her too, she has to keep lying to him about who she really is - a cyborg. Once she learns she is a shell- a lunar who can see through glamours but has no magic of her own. The lunar people are mystical beings that live on the moon- hints LUNAR. The queen wishes to marry Kai, but he does not feel the same way. There is a war that could soon demolish the Earth and there is only one who can surpass the Queen, a long lost princess. Is Cinder really a shell or could she be the princess? The next book in the series comes out in 2013- WHY!?!
