Thoughts:
2/5 stars.
Let me start off by saying this will most likely not be a rave of this hyped up book, mainly because I was confused during most of the book. But there were some parts that were pretty fantastic.
Charlotte is some sort of angel-ish-ish thing. I am not actually sure. But pretty much what happens is that she gets this giant urge to help somebody in need, and if she refuses the call, then her body pretty much goes bat-shit craazy. As she gets older, parts of her body starts to disappear because in the near future, she will completely disappear from the world and mind's of everyone she loves, including her best friend, boyfriend, and family.
I feel like I was suppose to like the characters more, but I didn't. I just felt they were... predictable. The loving boyfriend, the best friend with family issues, it just all seemed a bit used. But the plot was pretty well thought out. I have to admit that when I heard about this book, I imagined it would be kind of like the Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare, where she would meet others like her, but... it wasn't.
The writing though is pretty spectacular. Young weaves words together in a beautiful way, really giving us an inside look of how she felt about her situation. Let me say, if I was her, I would be running around screaming my head off shoving my partly invisible shoulder to the doctors of America. But even though she outwardly didn't show her alarm, on the inside I think her feelings were spot on.
The ending was so confusing and spectacular, that even though I didn't exactly loove this book, I will be checking out the sequel, A Need So Wicked.
